We are surrounded by communication. It’s the most important thing in a human’s life. As newborns, serious psychological damage can be done if the baby isn’t stimulated with emotional love and affection. The baby’s ability to empathize or judge other’s facial/body expressions becomes stunted.
Most importantly, being emotional creatures, communication is needed to express the stresses or concerns we feel in our daily lives.
My significant other and I find ourselves at times feeling that we aren’t on the same page. This can be a very frustrating situation that ends in a simple “I don’t care anymore”. We put a lid on it until it bubbles up again. I notice this in many relationships. It isn’t an easy task, but when you choose to take responsibility for learning how to communicate, it can change your interpersonal relationships drastically and your well-being in general.
